Foiled yet again! My Grammom snapped canvas all around my crib so my plans to chew through the rails have been suspended for the time being. I'm not sure how yet, but I'm going to come up with another way out. You can mark my words on that. In the meantime, to get even, I tore away my Grammom's wallpaper. Just enough to let her know I mean business, one tiny piece, right at the back of my crib. Maybe I should have done more. Now that they moved my crib away from the wall, I can't reach it at all.

She didn't even say goodbye
Mommy was here when I went down for my morning nap, but when I woke up, she was gone. For the first couple of hours I was fine playing with Grammom, but after awhile, I started to wonder; "Where is my Mommy?". I got myself so worked up. I cried and cried and then finally I managed to fall asleep for a really short afternoon nap. When I woke up, she still wasn't home so I cried and cried some more. Grammom said I was cranky, but I just really missed my Mommy! It took her until almost dinner time, but she did finally come home to me. When I finally got a hold of her, I didn't want to let go. Mommy didn't seem to mind, she really missed me too!

The bitter taste of curiosity
Sneaking a bite of a raw potato isn't half bad, but a garlic bulb... ICK! I wouldn't recommend it.

It's a good thing I'm part beaver
"Set me free, I'm innocent! I'm innocent, I tell you!"
Since no one seems to be responding to my repeated pleas, I've decided to take matters into my own hands and eat my way out of my crib. The wood tastes horrible and I'm getting splinters in my mouth, but its a small price to pay for freedom.

A neat trick
My grandmother taught me this one. First you open your mouth and say "ahhhhhh". Then, at the same time, you take your hand, fingers together, and repeatedly tap it lightly against your lips. What you should achieve is a cool, pretend Indian sound. When I first started learning this trick, my Grammom had to use her hand while I "ahhhh'ed". Now, I can do it on my own, but instead of using my fingers, I use my whole fist.

My first bike ride ... and my second
Bike riding is so much fun! I love it. I really, really love it! Mommy took me on one ride this morning. Then, because it was such a good time, we went for another ride in the afternoon. The helmet... yeah, I wasn't so sure about that at first, but I forgot all about it as soon as we got moving. With the wind at my face, well not my face, but Mommy's, it felt like I was flying. There was so much to see! I held onto the back of Mommy's waistband and looked all around. And sometimes, I chattered up a storm and told Mommy how much I was enjoying my ride. In the end, all that excitement exhausted me and I nodded off for a quick nap during the journey home, both times! I guess all that fresh air made me sleepy.
Mommy and I before leaving
And we're off ....

An Afternoon Dip
It's cold out today. Not freezing cold like where all my cousins live, but cold enough for us to have the heat on. That's why I couldn't understand why my Pop Pop decided that today, of all days, we wanted to go for a swim. I could see him through the glass doors, working on the patio. One minute he was sitting on his rolling stool working and the next he was in the water, stool and all! I thought it was an awful strange thing to do, but Mommy thought it was funny, because all she could do was laugh and laugh.

Cutting teeth is hard work
Those darn molars just won't break through. They've been causing me quite a bit of trouble and quite frankly, I'm getting a little sick of it. In addition to the throbbing pain, I've got a constant flow of drool out of my mouth, down my chin, under my neck and onto my chest. Good thing my shirt is there to soak it all up, or I might end up with puddles at my feet. My gums are full of peaks and valleys, so I guess I've got a few teeth slowly making their way to the surface. I sure wish they'd hurry up. Teething is no fun at all.

Set me free
I got the feeling nobody wanted me around today. First they put me in my swing; then they locked me in a big cage. I tried to escape, but there was no way out, except for climbing over it and I'm not big enough for that yet. After awhile, I let them know I didn't like my bars and I got picked up ... only to be put back in my swing again. I could see Mommy and Grammom the whole time out on the patio playing with buckets and buckets of paint. I wanted to play, if only they would let me loose. But of course they didn't. The only place that I ended up going was in my crib where I was forced to take a nap. Why is it I always have to go to bed when everyone else gets to have all the fun?

Sometimes, life just doesn't go my way
Mommy said we were going bye-bye. We drove around and 3 hours later ended up right back at home without ever getting out of the car. I'm not falling for that bye-bye routine again.
I was trying to get a better look at the pretty blue light near the tv when I lost my footing, took a nose dive and landed cheek first against the edge. I did get a closer look at the pretty blue light, but now my cheek it a not so pretty shade of black and blue.
Mommy put these big clunky things on my feet. She said its to help me walk, but I can't even stand up anymore. I try and try, but I can't seem to get me feet underneath me. What a mean trick. And just when I was starting to get really good at standing too.

My Aunt Rox Star
My Aunt Rox Star came all the way from California to visit me. My teeth are hurting still, but she's been helping me keep my mind off all of the pain. We've been playing and having so much fun. She says she was there when I was born, but I don't remember those days so clearly. Even so, I knew I'd love her right away; she picks me up all the time!
Here we are having a great time:
I can't speak for Aunt Rox, but here I am having a great time. I love long hair, you can pull and bite at the same time!

Look! No hands.
I'm standing up all the time now, in my crib, on the furniture ... wherever I can find support. Today I used my Mommy, who was lying on the ground, and right after I stood up, I let go. No hands! I'm getting braver every day. I stood there for a full second before tumbling back down to the floor. Grammom keeps saying it won't be long and I'll be able to walk! Just think of all the things I'll be able to get into then.

Cool Baby
November 27th, that's the day I first lifted my arm, moved my hand ever so slightly and said something resembling bye-bye. That was over a month ago and I haven't done it since. I've overheard some whispering about the events of that day. Those doubts are all behind me now though. Today, I waved again, and this time, I made sure no one would question me. I waved to my Mommy FOUR separate times from the living room while she was outside on the treadmill.
I have a very distinctive wave too. I don't bother with that whole finger waving nonsense. I just lift my hand and arm, hold it up for a second, give a look of recognition, and drop it. That's the reason I waited so long before waving again. I wanted to really think about my style and to make it perfect. A wave says a lot about a person. I wanted mine to reflect my hip nature. Mine does just that. I'm glad I waited ... I nailed it, all four times!
